This weekend retreat recognizes the toll and trauma-exposed nature of anti-racism and reconciliation work. It offers space for rest, reflection and rejuvenation.

May 26, 2023 - 5:00pm to May 28, 2023 - 2:30pm at the Shekinah Retreat Centre (near Waldheim, SK)

Cost: $150 – subsidies available

Cree Elder Mary Lee (Chitek Lake) will lead ceremony/smudging and offer support to attendees.
Heather Peters (MCC SK) and Jennifer Yasinowski (Caring Hearts) will teach trauma-informed sessions (based on western knowledge).
Honey Constant-Inglis (Sturgeon Lake First Nation) will provide land-based teaching.
Velma Assinewai (Wiikwemkoong, Anishnaabe territory) will lead a beading workshop.

At this retreat weekend, you are invited to decompress. The schedule contains short educational sessions with debrief circles, invitational cultural and learning activities, and breaks to allow time for rest, reflection and rejuvenation. At all times you are welcome to explore the options at Shekinah… or enjoy a nap!
