CBC News today launched Beyond 94, an immersive and interactive project on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.

Beyond 94 is the definitive website measuring progress of the TRC’s 94 calls and provides a narrative about the status of each call related to Child Welfare, Language and Culture, Justice, Education, Health and Reconciliation. The project can be found at cbc.ca/beyond94.

The site highlights residential school survivor stories, concrete suggestions, resources and examples of what reconciliation is, and how Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians can work together towards the path of reconciliation. The project will be a living resource as new documentaries, survivor stories, ideas and community-based action around reconciliation are added.

"This is storytelling that speaks to our country and our community. It is about the path to reconciliation and deepening the understanding it will take to change the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples,” says John Bertrand, CBC’s senior managing director, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the North.

To support reconciliation in action, CBC will host a series of public forums beginning in Regina at CBC Saskatchewan at 7 p.m. on Tuesday March 20. The forum will continue to Winnipeg at St. John’s High School at 6:30 p.m on Thursday March 22 and will end in Yellowknife at The Tree of Peace Friendship Centre at 7 p.m on Monday, March 26.

"This series speaks directly to our commitment as your public broadcaster to build strong local communities by helping Canadians connect with each other and be more informed through trusted, relevant, responsive and original story telling."
