On Tuesday, June 5, the Great Plains College, Swift Current Campus hosted a Reconciliation event. Truth and Reconciliation, Act Now, Healing Families ran from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Office of the Treaty Commissioner executive director, Harry Lafond, attended the ceremony, which featured an honour song, round dance and flag raising.

The participants marched from the campus to the Swift Current Market Square for the flag raising and speech by the deputy mayor.

The OTC has an ongoing partnership with Great Plains College, where both organization commit to working together to educate on Treaties and Indigenous knowledge and promote an Indigenous inclusive learning environment.
