The Treaty Commissioner of Saskatchewan has become a YQR Change Agent to support the Regina Food Bank.

The Regina Food Bank launched the program to recognize extraordinary examples of leadership and community building.

“We set out to share inspiring stories and lessons which can make Regina a more caring, fair and dynamic place to live,” said David Froh, Vice President Community for the Regina Food Bank.

They reached out to the Office of the Treaty commission because, “we want to rally the community around practical ways to advance reconciliation,” he said.

As part of her role, Commissioner Mary Culbertson filmed a conversation with the food bank, where she talked about reconciliation in her own life, as well as the change she is seeing across the province.

“While we still have a long way to go to see full Treaty implementation, it is important to recognize good work being done towards reconciliation, and by organizations like the Regina Food Bank,” she said.

“I am happy to be one of the YQR Change Agent and tell stories of hope and togetherness. I am proud to be part of a program that builds on the unifying power of food and positive change.”
