Reconciliation Saskatoon Flag Ceremony

Please join us at the 2017 Reconciliation Flag Raising Ceremony at Saskatoon City Hall’s Civic Square. The ceremony is part of a month-long series of activities aimed at promoting reconciliation and inspiring residents to commit to the calls to action.
7:30 a.m.: Pipe Ceremony & Blessing of Reconciliation Flag
Wild Horse Drum and dancers will perform.
8:30 a.m.: Breakfast & Coffee Service provided by Bannock Bistro
9: 00 a.m.: Performances, Remarks and Raising of the Reconciliation Flag
Welcome & Opening Remarks by MC, Neal Kewistep, Saskatoon Health Region.
Wild Horse Drum will perform.
Crystal Pederson from Westmount School will sing the Metis National Anthem.
Introduce Speakers - His Worship Mayor Charlie Clark; Felix Thomas, Chief, Saskatoon Tribal Council; Shirley Isbister, President of the Urban Metis Federation Inc.; Susha Weflen, Executive Director of the Aboriginal Friendship Centres of Saskatchewan; Harry Lafond, Office of the Treaty Commissioner; and AJ Felix, Residential School Survivor.
Moment of Reflection – To end the silence, Wild Horse Drum will hit the drums seven times in honour of the residential school children that did not come home.
Wild Horse Drum will perform the flag song while the Reconciliation Flag is raised. Dancers will perform the victory dance.
Closing remarks by MC, Neal Kewistep, Saskatoon Health Region.

Good morning, Sheri Benson would like to attend the flag raising on May 25th. Would there be time for her to bring greetings during the 9am program? She is attending the Child Find breakfast before but could be at the event by 8:30. Thank you in advance! Erica Spracklin Constituency Assistant
