Orange Shirt Day
Youth, Commemoration of HistorySaskatchewan
On Sept. 30 everyone at the Office of the Treaty Commissioner will wear orange as part of a national movement to recognize the experience of Residential School survivors.
We’re not alone in this, across the country organization, schools and individuals will participate in Orange Shirt Day.
The movement officially began in 2013 and this great blog post provides more of the history, What is Orange Shirt Day?
To find an event near you, you can check out the Orange Shirt Day’s website, or find them on Facebook at Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters.
Both the Saskatoon and Regina Public Schools are organizing Orange Shirt Day at their schools as part of their reponse to the TRC Calls to Action.
