We Are All Treaty People

Treaties are basic building blocks of the relationship between First Nations and the rest of Canada.By building on the relationship created by the Treaties, the parties involved hope to address the well-being of both parties, including the entering into of arrangements whereby Treaty First Nations exercise jurisdiction and governance over their lands and people. Treaties are the building blocks for the future of the relationship between First Nations and the rest of Canada.

Treaties are beneficial to all people in Saskatchewan. All people in Saskatchewan are treaty people.

The OTC is mandated by the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations and the Government of Canada to facilitate discussions at the Treaty Table to promote a common understanding of Treaties and Treaty implementation. The Treaty Table meets approximately three times each year.  You can follow our progress here.
